15 Dead including one soldier in Nagaland: Murder Case Filed. 

Sources said that thirteen villagers and one soldier were killed in an Indo-Myanmar border area in Nagaland when a counter-insurgency operation failed on Saturday. 

Meanwhile, a mob attacked the Assam Rifles camp, claiming another villager had been killed.

In the Mon district, Nagaland, public gatherings of more than five persons at once are prohibited. 

In addition, all vehicles of non-essential nature (including commercial vehicles) are also banned under section 144(CrPc).

Up to 15 people have been killed in the area, including 14 civilians and one special force member. 

An investigation into the murder has been opened. To investigate the incident, the Nagaland government formed a five-member Special Investigation Team of the state police. 

The crime branch police station has taken over the investigation. Sources in the Government confirm that all the state’s Hornbill festival activities were canceled until Monday night.

Sources said that the special forces of India’s army were deployed to counter-insurgency operations in the Mon region, which borders Myanmar. 

They attacked Oting village in the afternoon after receiving a tip about a possible insurgent movement. 

According to police sources, attacked a truck carrying villagers on the Tiru Oting road and opened fire. 

Sources said six villagers were killed when the troops opened fire, and two more died in the ambulance.

Angrily angry locals began to surround the security forces shortly afterward. 

According to police sources, six people were injured. Five of the five villagers were killed by the security forces as they opened fire on the mob’s “self-defense.” 

Three vehicles belonging to the security forces were also set ablaze. One soldier was killed.

The situation became tense in Mon Town as protestors surrounded the Assam rifles camp. According to police sources, they tried to set fire and enslave a part of the camp. 

One man was killed in the violence. Assam Rifles released a statement expressing regret for “our Naga brothers” deaths.

The army released a statement saying that it had received credible intelligence about the likely movements of insurgents and planned to conduct a specific operation in Tiru, Mon District in Nagaland. 

Regrettably, the incident and its aftermath were ever so reprehensible.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in Delhi is now back in the state. He will visit Mon tomorrow to meet with the locals. 

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has already stated that a Special Investigation Team would investigate the matter. 

Also, the Government blocked mobile internet and SMS services in Mon district to stop rumors from spreading.
