An asteroid traveling dangerously near to Earth

An asteroid traveling dangerously near to Earth: NASA.

The diameter of this Asteroid ranges from 127 to 284 meters. Due to its nearness to the Earth, “Potentially Dangerous Asteroid” Earth.

According to NASA, at least 3 asteroids are heading towards the Earth. NASA’s scientists believe that those asteroids will come dangerously close this month.

One Asteroid will be so close to Earth that NASA called it a ‘potentially dangerous. NASA-linked Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) has been declared hazardous.

Before we dive into the details about these asteroids, let’s first define what they are. As NASA explains it, the asteroids, also known as minor planets, are rocky.

According to NASA, there are many asteroids in the solar system. However, most of them are outside of our solar system.

They are in the central asteroid belt, an area between Jupiter and Mars’s orbits. It is not the only area where there are a lot of opportunities.

Another type of asteroids exists, and they are very close to Earth. These asteroids are known as Near-Earth Objects.

Asteroid near Earth

NASA keeps a close watch on NEOs as sometimes these asteroids can come dangerously close to the Earth.

In September 2021, the Asteroid will be dangerously close to our planet. One of these asteroids is called 2010 RJ53, and they will be at their most intimate.

At a distance of 366,000, the Earth approaches Earth on September 9. It is located approximately kilometers away from Earth. It measures only 54m in diameter and is about 2.4 m wider than the Burj Khalifa.

2021 PT is the second Asteroid. It will reach its closest approach to Earth on September 11. At which time it will be at a distance of 4.9 million kilometers from Earth.

The third Asteroid that will zoom past Earth this month is 2021 NY1. It is approximately the same size as a school bus in diameter.

It will fly by Earth at a 1.5 million kilometers distance on September 22, 2012.

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has designated 2021 NY1 a “Potentially” “Hazardous Asteroid” because of its predicted close approach to Earth.
