FIR lodged against Owaisi’s organizers Mumbai protest for defying police directives

FIR lodged against Owaisi’s organizers Mumbai protest for defying police directives.

The Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s rally organizers. The official said it was held earlier because they were accused of violating Covid-19 regulations and ignoring Section 144 of the CrPC on Sunday.

The FIR filed through Sakinaka Police on Saturday late the night was filed against Sabre Alam. Four others are all active members from the all-India Majlis E-Ittehadul Muslimeen.

The case was filed against them in several parts of the Indian Penal Code. It includes the following: 188 (disobeying the directives issued by public servants) and the 270 (malignant acts that are likely to spread disease to the person’s life) as well as the provisions in the Disaster Management Act, he stated.

Mumbai Police had imposed section 144 of the Crpc during the weekend to prohibit any gathering involving more than 4 persons, likely because of brand new Omicron variant cases coming out.

The rally, which was held in Chandivali before civic elections in Mumbai and other cities, attracted thousands of people.

It includes AIMIM activists who have been on a journey from Aurangabad to Marathwada headed by the party’s MLA Imtiyaz Jaleel.
