COVID-19: more than 107 million doses of vaccine administered in India so far.
Cumulative doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered in the country have exceeded the 107 crore mark, the Union Health Ministry said. According to the 7 pm interim report, more than 37 lakh (37,38,574) doses were administered on Tuesday.
The daily vaccination count is expected to increase with the compilation of the final day’s reports late into the evening, the ministry said.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Monday that 78 percent of India’s eligible population received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 38 percent received both injections.
The vaccination exercise as a tool to protect the country’s most vulnerable population groups from COVID-19 continues to be periodically reviewed and monitored at the highest level, the ministry stressed.
