Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done more for farmers than any agricultural leader: BJP chief.

BJP chief JP Nadda claimed on Monday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done more for farmers than any peasant leader and targeted opposition parties, claiming they believe in family rule and not democracy.

Addressing a Gorakhpur area booth presidents’ convention, Mr. Nadda, without naming any party, said: “We are moving forward with cultural nationalism and they (the opposition) with ” vanshwad ” (dynastic politics). For us nationalism is important and for them ” vanshwad ‘is everything’.

Many people become farmer leaders, but if anyone has done anything for farmers, it is Prime Minister Modi, the BJP president said in remarks that come days after the prime minister announced the withdrawal of three agricultural laws that they had sparked protests.

He highlighted the pro-farmer measures taken by the Modi government since 2014.

Our government increased the agricultural budget from Rs 20,000 crore to Rs 1.23 lakh crore, he said.

Under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, more than 10 crore farmers have received more than Rs 1.53 lakh crore directly into their bank account, said the BJP chief.

Also in Uttar Pradesh, around 2.54 crore farmers benefited from Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. A subsidy of 1,200 rupees is being given on a DAP bag, the BJP president said.

“Now with the purchase of a bag of DAP, one gets a bag of fertilizer for free because of Modiji’s benevolence,” added Nadda.

He said that under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, around 80 million people received free food grains for eight months during the coronavirus period.

Nadda said she had asked opposition leaders if their consciences don’t hurt when they “represent one family.”

“You (opposition leaders) have taken a ‘theka’ (contract) for applauding a single family … you replied that you are trapped and cannot do anything about it,” he said.

While the BJP carries everyone with the slogan “sabka saath, sabka vishwas”, the opposition indulges in vote bank politics and cares only for a “particular community and family”.

“We think of everyone’s progress and they think of his brother and chacha (uncle). Now, he has stopped thinking of chacha too,” he said, in an apparent attack on Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Opposition parties believe in “parivar tantra” (family system) and not “prajatantra” (democracy), he argued.

Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that it is the same state where the mafia and rioters used to rule under previous governments, but bullies have now forgotten about vandalism.

He said Prime Minister Modi “is committed to making India capable and protecting its pride and glory,” while “the people of Jinnahwad were robbing the people of their rights.”

BJP State President Swatantra Dev Singh said at the request of the national president that all BJP workers served poor families during the coronavirus period.

“We obtain the votes cast for the nation, for the development of the country. We do not obtain votes for appeasement,” he said.

There are a total of 27,637 posts in the Gorakhpur region and a 21-member committee has been formed at each of these posts.
