Chief Minister Eknath Shinde criticized the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA)-led administration for not “cooperating” on the Rs 1,54,000 crore semiconductor facility on Wednesday (September 14, 2022), in response to Maharashtra losing the Vedanta-Foxconn project to Gujarat.
Concerning Gujarat winning the project, Shinde, who took office as chief minister on June 30, said he did not want to engage in a blame game and urged the Opposition to reflect.
“Just over a month ago, my administration took office. I didn’t want to engage in a blame-game on the situation. However, I believe the Opposition should reflect “The corporation didn’t know the government would change, he said, and the previous MVA administration didn’t cooperate.
He said the Vedanta company intends to establish a TV and iPhone manufacturing plant in Maharashtra.
He said Maharashtra had provided the project with incentives of Rs 39,000 crore.
Shiv Sena, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and Congress, all MVA members, have harshly criticized the Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis administration over the project’s relocation to Gujarat from its original proposal in Maharashtra.

Shinde said amid criticism from the Opposition, “According to the Vedanta company, Maharashtra would become the site of an iPhone and TV production plant. Even Prime Minister Modi has promised a larger project in the state due to its high potential “.
To build India’s first semiconductor facility in Gujarat, oil-to-metals conglomerate Vedanta and Taiwanese electronics manufacturing giant Foxconn will spend one of the most outstanding sums of money ever—Rs 1.54 lakh crore.
