While active cases from India comprise 15.37 percent of total infections, the national number of deaths from Covid-19 rose to 1.89,544 and 2,624 new deaths were reported on Saturday.

The drop in cases on Saturday also lowered the positivity rate from 18% to 15% compared to last week.
The overall growth rate of cases in the city is 1.26%.
On Saturday, 8,549 patients were discharged after treatment, bringing the recovery count to 5,29,233.
“The strict lockdown-like measures further discouraged people from going out. The rising infections must also have persuaded some people to stay home,” the official said.
