A modder creates a Game Boy 'Macro'

A modder creates a Game Boy ‘Macro’: With the franchise being more than half a century old, there’s been a lot of new Pokemon introduced into the series over the decades. Although there are now less than 900 different Pokemon, Gengar has and remains an all-time famous fan favorite.

One way to confirm this is through the constantly-changing fan-created creations, like one modder who designed Gengar-themed Game Boy “Macro.”

Gengar is one of the Pokemon in the long-running series’ new significant releases, Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

The latest title has received an overall positive response, but it’s not without issues. One player has discovered a problem in the Hisui region that makes objects more significant by running around in circles.

The left-hand side of the console has an unintentionally stylized black and white image of Gengar and focus on the Pokemon’s iconic eyes and a nervous smile. The idea post on r/Pokemon. Customized Gengar Game Boy Macro has already earned over 2,000 likes as of the writing time.

On the other side, the side of the button is the Gengar shade of purple, with both elements contrasting against the console’s plain white body. The final touch to the design is an illuminated light bar that glows blue when Game Boy Macro is turned on and the appropriate Original Pokemon Silver displayed on the screen.

For players who might be unfamiliar with the game, Game Boy Macro isn’t a mistake to mean Game Boy Micro. Game Boy Macros aren’t an actual Nintendo device; they are a modified Nintendo DS with the top screen take away.

If you look close enough, it’s easy to observe the light source where the DS hinges typically are. Bringing a fresh new look to the old handheld gaming console.

Modifying Nintendo DS systems into Game Boy Macros has taken off recently. With a modder gaining much attention for their excellent Steampunk-themed Game Boy Macro.

Game Boy Macros aren’t the only medium that physical fans of Pokemon fans have recently used to show their appreciation to the type of Ghost/Poison. One fan went viral by creating the Gengar portrait made of thread and nails.

On the same site where a post about the Game Boy Macro post. User u/Thread_Art showcases their amazing image of Gengar created using threads. That have several different hundred colors (if at least hundreds) of times on the ring of nails.

The modder’s personal Gengar Game Boy Macro is special gaming hardware. However, it requires gamers to know the game they’re playing. The portrait and the Game Boy Macro are a tribute to Gengar’s popularity throughout the decades.

People searching for Pokemon merchandise that doesn’t possess the skills or resources to design a Game Boy Macro of their own can buy something similar to a Build-a-Bear Gengar or the odder Gengar plush, where the owner can sleep in its mouth.
