It has also added the option to allow users to permanently delete their accounts and erase all their data stored by the Aarogya Setu app. The development team behind the contact tracking app has also announced that it has added the ability to use Bluetooth contacts to assess the level of risk associated with COVID-19. The new changes are provided in the Aarogya Setu app for Android and iOS devices.
One of the latest changes that are available in the updated Aarogya Setu app is the option to approve third-party apps to access your health status. You will find the new option by going to Configurations > Aarogya Setu Status Approval. This will allow external applications to access your health status from the Aarogya Setu application. The function is initially limited to iOS devices.
The second major change made through the latest update is the ability to permanently delete your account in the Aarogya Setu app. You will see the Delete my account option that will allow you to delete your account and delete all the data in your application from your phone. This new option is available for Android devices, while its iOS counterpart is available as delete_account_title.

It is important to note that while the new option will delete your account and erase your application data, it will not provide you with a way to allow the Aarogya Setu team to delete your information stored on the government server. It will remain there for 30 days, according to the details provided in the Android version of the Aarogya Setu app. Having said that, the new addition is actually somewhat better than before, as the app did not have the option for users to delete their account until now.
Once you have selected the delete account option, you will be asked to provide your mobile phone number to carry out the deletion process.
The app also includes features that allow you to access your COVID-19 risk level by finding out how many people you’ve been around Bluetooth with. It will also provide you with the date, time, approximate location, and duration of such contacts, in case you have been diagnosed with positive COVID, such as the Aarogya Setu team explained in a series of tweets posted on Sunday.
You can download the updated Aarogya Setu application (version 1.3.1) on your Android device directly from Google Play. Their new iOS offering (version 2.0.0), on the other hand, is available for download on the App Store. Furthermore, the app already has a user base of over 13.86 crore users.
