Congress President Sonia Gandhi hoped the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ popular engagement campaign would help “rejuvenate” the party.

The party leader and her son, Rahul Gandhi, began the second day of the campaign with a foot march, or “Padyatra,” in Kanyakumari’s Agasteeswaram as Sonia Gandhi delivered her message.

Sonia expressed her sorrow for missing the “momentous evening” in person in a statement delivered by Rajya Sabha MP Amee Yagnik at the start of the 3,570-kilometer yatra. Sonia is now traveling for a medical examination.
