BJP Tease Nitish Kumar After 5 JD(U) MLAs Join Saffron Party

Amit Malviya, head of the BJP’s National Information & Technology Department, poked fun at Nitish Kumar, leader of the JD(U) and chief minister of Bihar when five of Kumar’s party’s MLAs in Manipur defected to the BJP.

5 of the 6 Janata Dal-United (JD-U) MLAs in Manipur, according to a PTI report, merged with the BJP on Friday night, according to authorities.

According to the 10th Schedule of the Constitution, Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata Singh has approved the merger of the five JD-U MLAs with the BJP in the Manipur Assembly, according to Manipur Assembly Secretary K. Meghajit Singh.

Khumukcham Joykisan Singh (Thangmeiband), Ngursanglur Sanate (Tipaimukh), Md. Achab Uddin (Jiribam), Thangjam Arunkumar (Wangkhei), and L.M. Khaute are the five lawmakers that joined the BJP (Churachandpur).

Amit Malviya of the BJP insulted Nitish Kumar by referring to him as a “lame duck chief minister” and claiming that he still “dreams of becoming prime minister.”

He noted: “The efforts of Mamata Banerjee to become popular outside of West Bengal failed horribly. Likewise, Lame-duck Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is seeing a decline in his party’s support outside of Bihar, where it is the third-largest state.”

BJP politician Sushil Modi was criticized by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who said that “no one takes him seriously,” amid rumors that he may run for prime minister in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The meeting between Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, and K Chandrashekar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana, was recently described as the “latest comic act of opposition unity” by Sushil Kumar Modi.
