BJP will not get even win 70 seats: Mamata Banerjee
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday that the BJP will not be able to win even 70 seats in the ongoing state assembly elections, which many hope will be a fail.
Speaking at a rally in Dabgram-Fulbari in the Jalpaiguri district, the Trinamool Supreme Congress ridiculed Prime Minister Narendra Modis, a recent claim that the BJP had already won 100 seats in the four phases of the 294-seat assembly election.
“Prime Minister Modi has said that the saffron party has already won 100 seats out of the 135 seats where elections have been held. I can say that after the elections are over, the BJP will not even get 70 out of the total 294 seats,” he said.
The Trinamool Congress leader denounced that the BJP was spreading falsehoods by saying different things in different places on the same topic.
Banerjee said that Interior Minister Amit Shah had said in Lebong in Darjeeling that there would be no NRC. However, he noted that 14 lakh people have been identified and sent to detention camps based on a process to find illegal immigrants in the National Registry of Citizens.

Banerjee said that if TMC is voted on one more time, he would not allow the controversial National Citizens Register (NRC) to be implemented in West Bengal. You are all citizens. My only request of the people is that they cast their votes, he said.
The Trinamool Congress leader claimed that BJP is bringing in people from other states where the pandemic was raging and this was helping to spread coronavirus. “These people will spread COVID in the state and then leave last year when COVID was on the rampage, none of the BJP leaders cared coming to the state,” he said.
