The Center will establish 105 honey testing laboratories: Narendra Singh Tomar.
Union Farmer Agriculture and Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said on Tuesday that honey quality is a major concern in India, for which five large-scale regional honey testing laboratories are being established. and 100 mini honey testing laboratories in the country. He stated that honey from India needs to live up to international standards.
Launching ‘AMUL Honey, a product of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. with the active cooperation of the National Bee Board, New Delhi, the minister stated: “With the quality standards maintained by AMUL Honey, it will show the good quality of the honey in the international market and help increase the export of quality Indian honey.”
Tomar insisted that the central government provide all the necessary support for the promotion and development of beekeeping in the country. According to officials, taking into account the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the National Apiculture and Honey Mission (NBHM) is being implemented in the country to improve the livelihoods of marginal farmers and double the income of farmers/beekeepers. through beekeeping with a budget allocation of Rs 500 million.
Present on this occasion were Union Ministers Parshottam Rupala, Kailash Choudhary, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, IAS Senior Officer Abhilaksh Likhi, and National Bee Board Executive Director Dr. Naveen Kumar Patel.
Recently, Haryana’s Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar also ordered officials to aim to improve honey production 10 times by 2030. He also ordered officials to motivate some 5,000 farmers to start beekeeping, for which the State will provide assistance.
