Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) President Rohan Jaitley has written to the state government offering the Arun Jaitley Stadium facilities to be used as a vaccination site in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jaitley confirmed that he has written a letter to the government and that his office has also received a response.
“I had written to them that if they feel they need a vaccination center, the DDCA facilities can be used until normalcy returns,” Jaitley told PTI on Saturday.
“In the facilities of our stadium, we have facilities where 10,000 people can be vaccinated per day. If they want to, until such time as there is something close to normal, they can use it until the cricket activity resumes.”
He said he received a response that “the chief secretary will investigate the matter.”
To boost the coronavirus vaccination campaign in the country, the Center last month announced a ‘liberalized and accelerated’ Phase 3 strategy of COVID-19 vaccination starting on May 1.
Now, all people over the age of 18 are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
