Environmentalist Disha Ravi was finally granted bail in the Toolkit case. The Delhi Sessions Court on Thursday granted bail to Disha. A Delhi court on Monday remanded Disha to one-day police custody in the case. Although the police wanted Disha in custody for five days. However, the Patiala House Court rejected the police’s plea. Last Friday, Disha was remanded in judicial custody for three days. Earlier, Disha was in police custody for five days. National politics was abuzz with the arrest of Disha. In this incident, a section of the opposition simultaneously targeted the central government.
Greta Thunberg, a Swedish environmental activist, tweeted in support of the peasant movement in the area near the Delhi border. Disha posted the Greater Shared Toolkit. Delhi Police arrested Disha in that case. Delhi Police alleges that Greater edited the shared toolkit Disha. Police further claimed that Disha had spread the documents by creating multiple WhatsApp groups. Disha has been accused of having links with a Khalistani group called the Poetic Justice Foundation.
Meanwhile, Disha Robi approached the court so that the private chat would not be leaked. The environmental activist appealed to the Delhi High Court to direct the Delhi Police not to divulge the private chats used in the investigation. The Delhi Police told the court in the case that no material used in the investigation was leaked. The court warned the Delhi Police and the media about this. The High Court issued notices to three media outlets in the Disha Robi case.
