On Monday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge about the National Herald case’s money-laundering investigation.
The federal agency called the 79-year-old Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, the ED said. He was asked to come in for the investigation.

When he talks, he’ll be recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) because the government wants to know about some things in the case, officials say.
Swamy is an Indian politician who leads the BJP. In 2012, Swamy said some Congress leaders cheated and broke trust when they bought Associated Journals Ltd from Young Indian Ltd. (YIL).
The man said that a newspaper founded by Jawaharlal Nehru was “taken over” by YIL in a “malicious” way.
As part of a case called the National Herald, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Motilal Vora and Oscar Fernandes, journalist Suman Dubey, and a technocrat named Sam Pitroda were all on the list.
