Elden Ring cannot complete completely on the first playthrough

Elden Ring cannot complete completely on the first playthrough: Between gameplay videos and developer-related commentary, From Software’s advertising to Elden Ring will have allowed fans to form an expectation of how vast the game will be.

It shouldn’t come as an unsurprising fact that, on the other hand, due to Elden Ring‘s vast open-world setting, it’s impossible to explore and complete all of the things in one playthrough.

In 2019, when the game first came out, From Software touted Elden Ring as the biggest game of the studio to date.

This statement would make as at the time. The trailer had shown to players for two years. Until revealed more details in early 2021 in the summer.

As this occurred, fans’ had their hopes confirmed when Elden Ring‘s Director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, confirmed the earlier assertion from From Software that it was indeed the studio’s biggest game.

According to Miyazaki, the players played for 30 hours without any deviations. Which suggests that the primary content alone could require players 30 hours to finish.

An interview was conducted with one of Elden Ring’s producers, Yasuhiro Kitao. They affirm that the game will require several rounds to get to 100 per cent completeness.

The interview recorded on an episode of Taipei Game Show 2022. Kitao presented a lecture on Elden Ring‘s methods and answered a range of questions.

Elden Ring cannot complete completely on the first playthrough

I asked if players could achieve 100% completion within one game. Kitao states, “Not not quite. It’s technically impossible to achieve 100% completion because there are branches near the end of the game.

However, you could certainly achieve a decent level”. The authors also state that players can finish the game without going through everything.

For those who played the previous From Software games, This information shouldn’t surprise you at all. Kitao, in the interview, talks about the emphasis on replayability, which older From Software games also featured.

When we look at the last game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice offered several endings that required players to complete several specific actions, such as finding particular objects, talking to particular NPCs, or defeating specific bosses.

Virtually all Souls title that goes back to the first Demon’s Souls has had different endings.

At the end of 2021, Miyazaki discovered that Elden Ring has many endings and that they’re generally quite flexible in achieving.

This could mean Elden Ring may be placing a greater emphasis on collection-style endings, which makes sense considering how big the game’s scope is intended.

More specifically, Miyazaki suggests that certain endings offer different ways to achieve them depending on whether they are dependent on how long a game play or the number of bosses that have defeated.

On the 25th of February, Elden Ring launches on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
