Everton needs to show quality for Premier League survival: Lampard.
Everton manager Frank Lampard believes his team can stay in the Premier League. They must now demonstrate it after a 2-1 loss to West Ham United on Sunday, which dropped them three points above the relegation zone.
Everton has lost six of their eight league matches since Lampard took over for the ousted Rafa Benitez in January. The team was reduced to ten men for the third time.
Everton is 17th in the Premier League with 25 points after 28 games, and they visit Burnley on Wednesday.
“To stay up, we need to show more quality – and there is talent in this squad,” Lampard told reporters.
“We’re in this situation, and we’re aware of the truth, but we still have 10 games to play and many points to earn. If we stay on the road we’ve shown, I’m confident we’ll be fine.”
Since the 1954-55 season, the Merseyside club has competed in the English Premier League every year.
