Hyper Scape Shuts Down in April: Many companies have attempted to create a battle-royal shooter since the Fortnite Battle Royale launch in 2017.
There have been success stories like Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone and failures like Radical Heights or The Darwin Project.
Ubisoft tried to capitalize on the battle-royale hype by launching Hyper Scape 2020. Hyper Scape could not achieve the same success rate as other games of the genre, and it will be closing down in April.
Ubisoft’s Battle-Royale Shooter Says Goodbye
Ubisoft posted a brief statement today to inform fans that they will be closing Hyper Scape’s servers on April 28th.
The statement stated that they had created a vertical, close-quarter, and fast-paced shooter experience.
They are grateful to the community for supporting them on this journey. We will incorporate critical lessons from this game into our future products.

The game was still in its third season and hadn’t updated since April last year.
It has not mention that players who bought cosmetic items, such as vehicle skins or weapons, would given.
Although there hasn’t been an official reason for the server’s shutdown. It seems most likely that Ubisoft couldn’t draw enough players to make it profitable.
