India on Friday registered 1.49 million new Covid cases, which brought the total number to
4,195,52,712.
The cases added on Friday were just 13% less than the Thursday count, and the positivity
the rate was also reduced to 9.2 percent.
According to the health ministry, the active cases account for 3.42 percent of the total
number of infections, while the recovery rate for COVID-19 in the nation dropped to 95.39
percent.
In December of this year, Covid cases have been increasing quickly due to the brand new
variation Omicron. The active caseload of India currently stands at 14,35,569.
Yesterday, 2,46,674 recoveries were recorded, bringing total recoveries from India up to
4,0017,088.
India has also reported 1,072 Covid-related deaths over the past 24 hours.
As part of the nationwide vaccination campaign, 167.87 cr vaccine doses have been
administered to date, the health ministry stated on Friday.
