Kingdom Hearts Switch Collection gets a new name : In today’s Nintendo Direct, Square Enix revealed a new preview of their Kingdom Hearts series coming to Nintendo Switch via Cloud gaming under the new name Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece.
In the past, after the exciting announcement of Kingdom Hearts, protagonist Sora would be joining Super Smash Bros.
Ultimate, Nintendo also announced that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Re: Mix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. And Kingdom Hearts 3 Re: Mind would all available on Nintendo Switch just in time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series.
Kingdom Hearts is a JRPG series that brings together the worlds of Square Enix and Disney, telling the tale of Sora, Donald Duck, and Goofy as they travel through the worlds of many different worlds that base on Disney as well as Pixar films to take on the shadows and the dark Organization 13.
Although Kingdom Hearts is known for its confusing story. The games have all gained an enormous following of gamers who praise the worldbuilding and characters.
The possibility of a Nintendo Switch port for all the Kingdom Hearts games has been wanted. And earlier this month, Square Enix officially confirmed that the HD collections, Kingdom Hearts 3, and its DLC expansion Re: Mind would release on February 10.

The games were then shown the chance to showcase their new games in the current Nintendo Direct, where the compilation of the three collections will launch under the name Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece.
The presentation of Intergrum Masterpiece contains footage from both the original Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2 as included in the HD 1.5 + 2.5 Re: Mix collection. And Kingdom Hearts 3, the final installment in the “Dark Seeker Saga.”
The series is now continuing through the game of rhythm name Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. Which releases on Switch and other consoles in 2020.
Although it’s thrilling to see this game get its Switch consoles. There is the caveat that they’re cloud versions of the game, which means they have to be online to play.
Although this is not what the gamers had hoped for. Square Enix currently “undecided” on the concept of developing native ports to the game series for the console. However, it yet to determine whether this idea will a reality shortly.
It’s fascinating to finally play an entire Kingdom Hearts series on the Nintendo Switch. This means the game will available across all major consoles. In addition to the possibility of having Kingdom Hearts on PC too.
We hope this is a sign of a change in the development direction for the series. Away from creating spin-offs exclusive to specific platforms.
Kingdom Hearts: Intergrum Masterpiece is available for purchase this coming Nintendo Switch on February 10.
