Lakhimpur Kheri Violence Update.

Upping the ante, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu said on Tuesday that if party leader Priyanka Gandhi is not released, then the Punjab unit will march to Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh.

He tweeted: “If by tomorrow, the son of the Union minister behind the brutal murder of Farmers is not arrested and our leader @PriyankaGandhi is illegally arrested, the fight for farmers is not released, the Punjab Congress will march towards Lakhimpur! Kheri! ”

On Monday, Sidhu, along with several party MLAs, held a protest in front of the Raj Bhavan against the Lakhimpur Kheri incident in Uttar Pradesh.

Sidhu, other congressional legislators, including Madan Lal Jalalpur, Gurpreet Singh, and various members of the Punjab Youth Congress, sat in front of Governor Banwarilal Purohit’s residence and chanted against the BJP. They demanded the arrest of the son of the Minister of State of the Union for the Home Ajay Mishra for his alleged involvement in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident.

Earlier in the morning, the leader of the Punjab Congress had again extended his support for Priyanka Gandhi and even equated her with “moral authority.” “When in doubt, walk the path of truth, never compromise moral values!” Moral Authority “your name is @priyankagandhi” he tweeted.

Police said Tuesday that they registered a case against Priyanka Gandhi and 10 others in the sections related to pre-trial detention due to the arrest of violation of public order.

The case under articles 151, 107, and 116 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) (all related to pre-trial detention due to the arrest of breach of peace) has also been registered against the head of the Congress of Uttar Pradesh, Ajay Kumar Lallu and party leader Deependra Hooda, officials said.
