Lord of the Rings TV shows: It appears that the Lord of the Rings television Sauron announcement could be due to an unidentified character poster that display on the official Twitter feed.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Sauron’s first look appears to part of a massive thread of character posters that reveal for the highly anticipated Amazon Prime show and may have told a younger Gandalf as well.

The Twitter stream that is the official feed of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has been tweeting over 20 posters of characters to the characters in the series, clearly showing an assortment of human beings and elves dwarves, and possibly even hobbits.
Although the posters are in close-ups and don’t feature any faces. The most striking is the black-clad figure — with spiked armor — which most fans believe to be Sauron or even the Witch King from Angmar.
Sauron appears to be the more likely choice, given the timeframe of the show and the armor is in the look that The Dark Lord saw in the films and Middle-Earth: Shadow of War.
Another image of a man wearing a gray cloak and carrying a mysterious, broken sword believe to be the young Gandalf in the first time he is seen in Middle-Earth.
The sword could have Gurthang which believe to have killed the vast dragon Glaurung. And thought to possess a will to its very own.
The only possible persona shows someone completely covered in gold, including their fingers.
This is probably Ar-Pharazon, The Golden King, the final King of Numenor and ancestor of the Aragorn. The one ruler who able to take on Sauron during a battle with no help. But degrade and ruined through Sauron, the Dark Lord.
