Microsoft is adding five new text styles to its Office Suite. The Redmond-based tech monster intends to replace Calibri as the default text style interestingly since 2007 when it transformed it from Times New Roman. 

Microsoft furthermore reported that one of the five new text styles, Bierstadt, Grandview, Seaford, Skeena, and Tenorite, will eventually replace Calibri and is soliciting user input on selecting the following default font in the coming months. 

All five font families are available for download through Microsoft’s support website.

Through a mail On its blog, Microsoft announced five new font families for its Office Suite applications. Grandview, Bierstadt, Seaford, Skeena, and Tenorite are various sans serif font styles available for download through the Microsoft Support website. 

Microsoft additionally requests that its clients contribute criticism and give remarks on Twitter. The organization further referenced that if clients don’t care for the picked default textual style, they can transform it from the inclinations in any of the Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Bierstadt is a “precise but contemporary sans serif typeface inspired by mid-20th century Swiss typeface.” Grandview has been designed to be “readable at a distance and in poor condition,” according to the company. 

Seaford describes himself as “ingrained in old-fashioned serif typefaces and evokes their comfortable familiarity.” Skeena “typeface inspired by mid-20th century Swiss typeface”. 

This year, Microsoft announced that the LTSC versions of Office 2021 and Office 2021 would be released sometime this year. However, Microsoft has not provided an exact deployment schedule or provided details on new features. It is a successor to Office 2019, and the Long Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) version will provide dark mode support in multiple applications such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
