An American actress and musician by the name of Monica Dogra (also known as Monica Sharma Dogra). She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on October 25, 1982.
Her most notable performance was as Shai in the movie Dhobi Ghat. She and guitarist Randolph Correia founded Shaa’ir+Func, an electronic rock band, in 2005. She and guitarist Randolph Correia’s first album, New Day: The Love Album, was released in 2007.
Subsequent albums were Light Tribe (2008), Mantis (2010), Align (2014), and Spit (2016). In 2008, she made her acting debut in the movie Rock On!! as a guest star.
In the 2011 movie Dhobi Ghat, she portrayed Shai. In the 2010 movie Break Ke Baad, she sang “Dooriyan Bhi Hain Zaroori,” her first Hindi song.
Monica participated as a judge in Rolling Stone’s Never Hide Sounds, a music talent competition, in December 2011. She was one of the judges for “The Stage,” India’s first English-language singing reality program, in 2015.
She competed in Season 8 of the stunt-based reality series Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi on Colors TV in 2017. In 2021, she made her online debut as Peeplika Khan in ALT Balaji’s web series The Married Woman.
She also served as the presenter of The Dewarists, a musical TV series on STAR World India.

Career
In 2005, Dogra and guitarist Randolph Correia formed Shaa’ir + Func, an electronic rock band. She released New Day: The Love Album, her first album, in 2007.
They issued two other records, Light Tribe (2008) and Mantis (2010). She performed Dooriyan Bhi Hai Zaroori in the 2010 Hindi film Break Ke Baad.
She performed the movie Inkaar’s theme song. Dogra made her Bollywood debut in 2008 with the musical drama Rock On!!
Later, she portrayed Shai in the Aamir Khan-starring movie Dhobi Ghat. She has appeared in shows, and films, including What are the Odds, Teraa Surroor, Fireflies, David, and What are the Flys.
