Myanmar Junta released at least 2000 prisoners

Myanmar Junta released at least 2,000 prisoners in Myanmar.

Demonstrations are demanding democracy in Myanmar. Thousands of pro-democracy people are protesting in the streets against the military coup. The media is coming down sharply.

In such a turbulent situation, the Burmese army took a more flexible stance by releasing the prisoners.

According to news agency ANI, the military junta released 2,300 prisoners on Wednesday. Myanmar army arrested them on “street” charges for protesting against a military coup.

According to local Myanmar media outlet Kyodo News, Burmese government forces have arrested journalists, intellectuals, and several celebrities on charges of protesting against Juntar.

But the 24 arrested celebrities have been released after deciding not to sue. However, the military rulers have taken steps to remove the prisoners to cover up the allegations of human rights activists, oppression, and human rights violations across the country.

According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, at least 5,210 people have been arrested since the military coup.

The situation in Myanmar has become increasingly complex since the military coup last February. Several armed separatist groups have launched a front against the Burmese army after solid protests by democrats.

Several rebel groups have called for a united front against the military junta. Then the country’s military rulers also came under pressure at the United Nations.

A few days ago, it passed a resolution condemning Myanmar’s military junta in the international arena.
