Omar Abdullah: Center must do “something” for J & K

People in Jammu and Kashmir are distressed since there is seldom a day that goes by without a violent occurrence, according to National Conference (NC) vice-president Omar Abdullah, who also stated the government should make efforts to alleviate the situation.

“Everyone is aware of the problem. There isn’t a day that goes by without an incident. The folks are in a bad way. We want the situation to improve, and the administration must take action to achieve this, “In Ganderbal, Omar Abdullah told reporters.

On the occasion of the annual Urs, the NC leader paid a visit to Baba Nizamudin Larvi Naqshbandi’s shrine in Baba Nagri, central Kashmir.

In response to a query concerning assembly elections in J-K, Omar said that the Election Commission of India would make the decision but that his party had not yet begun its campaigning.

“The Election Commission is in charge of election administration. Only once the Election Commission has decided to hold elections will we begin our preparations. We are not discussing or planning for elections at this time, “he said
