Over the past 24 hours, very light to light showers / showers have occurred in isolated parts of Uttar Pradesh, the meteorological office said Wednesday. Thunderstorms struck some places over western UP, they said, adding that dense to very dense fog occurred in isolated locations in the same region.
Daytime temperatures rose appreciably in Prayagraj and Jhansi divisions, while there were no major changes in the remaining divisions of the state.
They were appreciably above normal in the divisions of Moradabad, Agra, Meerut; above normal in the divisions of Varanasi, Lucknow, Bareilly; below normal in Jhansi division and normal in other divisions of the state.
The minimum temperature in the state was 7.4 degrees Celsius in Muzaffarnagar, while the maximum temperature of 30.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Varanasi.
The department has forecast that the weather is likely to remain dry with shallow to moderate fog in the morning in isolated locations over eastern UP and the weather is more likely to be dry in the western parts of the state on Thursday.
