PM Modi Writes Letter to Gujarat BJP

PM Modi Writes Letter to Gujarat BJP unit, in which he has appreciated their efforts to create 15 lakh page committees, and said he would help the party connect with Rs 2.25 million voters in the state.

The letter, written in Gujarati, was published by the party’s state unit here on Thursday.

Gujarat’s BJP leaders said the copy of the prime minister’s letter would be distributed to more than 58 members of the lakh page committee, including the head of each committee.

In the letter, Modi said: “I congratulate the Gujarat BJP for starting this ‘Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan Page Committee’. A committed entry-level worker is an important asset to any party and an outreach exercise by such workers ultimately becomes a means of serving the people. ”

He thanked the Gujarat BJP’s efforts in creating 15 lakh page committees, saying it would help the party connect with 2.25 crore voters across the state, and also wished them luck for upcoming local body polls.

Under the ‘Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan Page Committee’, a ‘pramukh’ (keeper) was appointed for a page in the electoral roll. Each page typically contains details of five to six voters for that booth. Each page of pramukh has to focus on those five or six families of voters as part of the administration of the booth at the micro level.

While publishing the letter, Gujarat BJP Chairman CR Paatil said that all state ministers and key party officials, including Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, have become ‘page pramukhs’ under this campaign.

He added that in addition to working to ensure the BJP’s victory at the polls, this exercise is also about reaching out to people in need so that they are aware of the benefits of various government schemes should they be left out for any reason.

Gujarat’s Chief Deputy Minister Nitin Patel, who is also a page pramukh, said that the prime minister will deliver this letter to all the page and page pramukh committee members.
