PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021: 40 Teams participating.
PUBG Mobile Global Championship or PMGC 2021 will bring together 40 teams to compete in the grand final.
The world championships will take place online and in a new format, divided into East and West regions, where 20 teams compete in each area, Antara reported Wednesday (10/11/2021).
Bigetron Red Aliens (BTR RA) pocketed a ticket to compete in the tournament after occupying the runner-up position in the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) SEA Championship Season 4.
Meanwhile, another Indonesian team, namely Genesis Dogma GIDS, had already secured a place in the championship through PMGC Qualification Points after winning PMPL ID S4 some time ago.
PUBG Mobile publisher and developer Tencent, quoted from Dotesports, revealed a total prize of US$1,470,000 or around Rp. 20.9 billion.
The amount is likely to be divided equally between West and East, amounting to 725,000 US dollars for each region.
Similarly, it will give the remaining USD 20,000 to players who appear with outstanding performances or are called MVPs.
The format for the leagues in the West and East is the same. The matches will last for three weeks, from November 30 to December 19.
After that, games will play every Tuesday and Wednesday. Then, the top 16 teams from the results will advance to that week’s Super Weekend, which runs from Friday to Sunday.
While the rankings on weekday matches continue to be updated every week, Super Weekend will provide crucial decisive points for the 16 teams to advance to the League Finals.
The League Final will take place on December 22-24. The top 16 teams from Super Weekends in each region will play 18 matches (six per day) to determine the PMGC 2021 finalists.
Nine teams from the east will advance to the grand finals, while the best six teams from the West will qualify for the grand finals.
The PMGC 2021 Grand Final will take place on January 21-23, 2022. Apart from the 15 teams from the league stage, one team will receive a direct invitation to the competition.
However, Tencent has not revealed who that team will be.
