California – A “thank you firefighters” sign hangs on the door of a ranch near the Alisal Fire burning area.

Two months have passed since the fire destroyed a dozen homes and burned more than 17,000 acres.

With heavy rains in the forecast since Sunday, residents have been warned to be prepared to evacuate at any time.

The locals know very well what can happen. They saw a flow of debris after the historic Thomas Fire killed 23 people and destroyed or damaged hundreds of homes in Montecito on January 9, 2018.

The county is preparing for the worst with equipment and personnel located in strategic locations along the coast.
