Savage Games Dev Escape Ukraine Conflict: With the conflict in Ukraine getting worse by the hour. The gaming community is getting a lot of attention. Twitch streamers are leaving their streams to flee, and development companies are looking for a place for their employees to work so they can keep their work going.
A company that makes Arma 3 add-ons called Savage Game Designs has helped one of its employees get out of Ukraine because of the ongoing war with Russia.
In 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, and people are running for their lives as bombs go off all over the country. Savage Game Designs, the company that made Bohemia Interactive’s Arma 3 DLC Prairie Fire, has employees in more than 30 countries. Ukraine is one of them.
On the Arma subreddit, Hornet 221 talked about how one of the developers from Savage Game Designs had to leave Ukraine. The post quotes a message from SGD that thanks fans for their support and tells them what’s going on.
Some people say that the developer and his girlfriend have fled their home outside of Kyiv and are trying to get to the border of Slovakia to be picked up by other company members and taken to Germany, where they can get asylum.

The developer has left everything at his old house and asked for help in a fundraiser to help him get back on his feet and work on the DLC again.
Bohemia, the company that makes Arma, has said that it doesn’t support using the game’s footage in this way.
Savage Game Designs are working on arma DLC Prairie Fire. This has changed things. It’s great to see an excellent developer help one of their own not so that they can keep working but also make sure they’re safe.
This is why Savage Game Designs chose to work on an Arma DLC. They’ve been making real games based on the Vietnam War since 2017. Sadly, anyone has to move because of this world event. Even game developers and people stream on Twitch.
In most cases, video games are not political. Even if they show fictional versions of historical events like World War 2. For a few hours, people play video games to forget about real life.
That said, those fantasy worlds have to be made somewhere, and sometimes real-life events get in the way. Like with Covid-19 in the last two years and with the war in Ukraine.
September 12th, 2013, is when Arma 3 came out. It’s available on PC.
