Former Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan has returned to his former IPL Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise after being hired for Rs 3.2 crore in the 2021 IPL auction. He was part of the KKR team in 2012 and 2014 that won the title under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir.
Punjab Kings also showed interest in the star off-roader but was overtaken by KKR.
Shakib Al Hasan returns to the IPL after a one-year term. The 33-year-old missed last season due to his annual suspension for failing to report on the corrupt approaches of bookmakers.

He has played 63 IPL games to date, scoring 746 runs at a strike rate of 126.66 and taking 59 wickets with an economy of 7.46.
The star cricketer had moved to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the 2018 and 2019 IPL seasons.
