Taliban Planning to capture Kabul Soon?

The situation in Afghanistan is rapidly deteriorating as US forces withdraw. Taliban militants have moved closer to the capital, Kabul. According to Reuters, after the capture of Kandahar, the jihadists have also entered the city of Ghazni.

As a result, the government forces in Kabul cannot shoot there thinking about the safety of the people. They are strategically located on the Kandahar-Kabul National Highway. Therefore, the distance from the city of Ghazni to the capital Kabul is only 150 kilometers.

Analysts say the Taliban’s march on Kabul will be more accessible if Ghazni is captured. “The situation in Ghazni is terrible,” Hassan Rezai, a Ghazni’s regional council member, told Reuters. Taliban militants are using innocent people’s homes as shields to attack government forces. It has made it more difficult for the Afghan army to conduct operations.”

It is reported that General Austin Miller, the head of the US military deployed in Afghanistan, resigned on Monday. As a result, analysts believe that the US operation in Afghanistan has officially ended.

However, the situation in Afghanistan has been deteriorating since the withdrawal of US troops. The Taliban have claimed control of 75 percent of the country.

Al Qaeda and Lashkar-e-Taiba are also strengthening their bases. India does not want to take any risk in such a situation. So 50 Indian diplomats and other staff have been repatriated from the Kandahar embassy.
