Two-time ban for Twitch Streamer TheGrefg: Streamers banned from Twitch for things like breaking the site’s rules and for other, more vague reasons. In addition, bots sometimes ban accounts by mistake. Like when streamers bann from Twitch for playing Madden NFL during the Super Bowl.
As for TheGrefg’s removal from the platform, it’s not very often that it comes out funnily.
Spain-based YouTuber David “TheGrefg” Canovas Martinez is also the esports team Team Heretics owner. Unfortunately, one of its members, Brunenger, banned from Twitch in May 2021.
On March 10, 2022, TheGrefg brought Brunenger on his stream to talk about the situation and criticize Twitch’s ban policy. But, of course, it didn’t matter to TheGrefg that Brunenger was wearing an astronaut helmet with a dark visor the whole time.
TheGrefg knew that inviting the banned content creator onto his channel would be risky.
So a three-day ban from Twitch for having Brunenger on his stream didn’t surprise TheGrefg on March 22.
“I knew I was putting myself at risk by doing something like this, and this is what I got.” So on Friday, I’ll be back.
It’s been a while since Brunenger has been able to stream on Twitch. Unfortunately, the platform hasn’t given him a date when he might return.
It was essential to TheGrefg for his friend to be able to talk about how he felt about the way punishments give out on Twitch. Some bans are very clear, like when Twitch streamers participate in hate raids or don’t pay taxes.
Other bans aren’t so explicit. Brunenger wondered why some people ban for a short time while others were banned for long or even for good.
When TheGrefg showed an inappropriate video during a stream in July 2020, his Twitch account shut down. This is the second time that TheGrefg has had his account shut down.
For 24 hours, the ban was in effect, and the second suspension was just like that. In addition, Brunenger was banned indefinitely for streaming risky content, and TheGrefg said that he often poured this kind of content.
The issue of unfair or excessive bans has debate for as long as Twitch has been around. Unfortunately, many think that popular content creators get away with bad behavior while smaller streamers get little to no leniency.
People who make content can now file an appeal against their suspension and keep track of how it’s going through a new site called “Twitch Appeal.” Twitch hopes this will make it easier for streamers who think their accounts have been unfairly ban from getting in touch with the company,
