Typhoon Muifa is projected to hit eastern China

Typhoon Muifa is projected to hit eastern China: The Chinese national weather forecaster warned on Tuesday that Muifa had strengthened into a powerful typhoon and would continue to intensify as it passed over the East China Sea before landing on Wednesday in the coastal regions of Zhejiang province.

The center of Muifa issued a “orange” warning 490 kilometers (304.5 miles) southeast of Xiangshan City in Zhejiang Province. Weather experts issued gale-force wind warnings for the impacted regions.

China has a four-tiered, color-coded weather warning system, with red denoting the most severe alert and orange, yellow, and blue signifying the less severe warnings.

CMA predicts that after making landfall, China’s 12th typhoon of the year would decrease gradually.

Due to Muifa, state media warned of the possibility of giant waves in the southern East China Sea. And dangerous sea conditions in the coastal seas of Zhejiang and Fujian.
