Uddhav Thackeray, chief minister of Maharashtra, said several unsuccessful efforts were made to dismantle the Shiv Sena. On Saturday night, Mr. Thackeray, who leads the Shiv Sena, stated at the trailer presentation of “Dharmaveer,” a Marathi biopic on Sena leader Anand Dighe, that “many efforts were made to destroy the Shiv Sena but those who attempted were terminated.”

He complimented committed Shivsainiks for their hard work and sacrifices in keeping the party strong.
Mr. Thackeray remarked, “This video demonstrates the emergence of the Shiv Sena and what allegiance means to regular Shivsainiks.”
Prasad Oak, a Marathi actor, plays the key role of Anand Dighe. On May 13, the film will be released.
Dighe, the Shiv Sena’s Thane district unit chairman, was a popular grassroots leader with a significant following. Dharmaveer was a fictitious character created by Sena founder Bal Thackeray.
