Khatima Assembly constituency today (January 27). CM Pushkar Singh Dhami talked to ANI Wednesday and stated, “I will file nomination papers from Khatima Assembly constituency tomorrow.”

Wednesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced a list of nine candidates for the Uttarakhand Assembly elections.

It fielded the former chief minister BC Khanduri’s daughter and the wife of current Health Minister Rajesh Bhushan, Reetu Bhushan Khanduri, from Kotdwar. Reetu is currently an MP from Yamkeshwar.

The list of potential candidates along with their respective assembly constituencies include Shaila Ranji Rawat (Kedarnath), Rajpal Singh (Jhabrera SC), Muneesh Sainsi (Piran Kaliyar), Reetu Bhushan Khanduri (Kotdwar), Pramod Nainwal (Ranikhet), Mohan Singh Mehra (Jageshwar), Mohan Singh Bisht (Lalkuwa), Jogendrapal Singh Routela (Haldwani) and Shiv Arora (Rudrapur).

With this list, the BJP has announced candidates for more than 68 seats for the initial phase, 59 in the second phase, and there are two seats where names of candidates are not yet revealed for the upcoming election to the assembly.

The party has announced details of the names of 59 candidates on the first list.

The list includes the name of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, state president Madan Kaushik Banshidhar Bhagat, and other ministers.

The former Congress Uttarakhand chief Kishore Upadhyaya could be a part of the BJP.

In the run-up to Feb 14 Uttarakhand Assembly polls, former Congress state chief Kishore Upadhyaya could join the BJP this Thursday.

Sources from the BJP informed ANI. Upadhyaya might be a candidate in the Assembly elections from the Tehri district.

A few days ago, Congress released its third list of candidates to contest the elections but did not mention Kishore Upadhyaya.

The news further raised the possibility of Kishore Upadhyaya forming the BJP.

A source close to Upadhyay informed ANI that he sought to revoke his suspension from all posts in the party.

He had communicated this to Congress the leadership as well. Upadhyay was removed from all posts of Congress in a Disciplinary Action.

During the state-wide weeks leading up to Congress, a significant change has changed Harish Rawat’s seat.

The former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Singh Rawat will run for office from Lalkuwa instead of Ramnagar.

Interestingly, Congress has offered an opportunity to daughter Harish Rawat Anupama Rawat from Hardwar Rural constituency, defying the Congress’s policy of “one place, only one family.

Voting for the state legislative assembly of 70 members is scheduled to take place on February 14, while the count of votes will occur on March 10.
