Yash cyclone and Amphan cyclone both have many similarities, as a tropical cyclone. In the same month of Amphan, Cyclone Yaash is coming towards Kolkata at its full speed this year. Super Cyclonic Amphan was a powerful tropical storm that caused extensive damage in Eastern India. Specifically, Kolkata, West Bengal, Odisha, and Bangladesh, in May 2020. 

 The Amphan was a powerful cyclone that hit West Bengal and Kolkata. It caused total damage of over US$13 billion in the broad area of West Bengal. Amphan was also the most deadly cyclone ever recorded in the North Indian Ocean.

The Alipore Weather Department says that it will start raining in the state next Tuesday due to the cyclone Yash. According to the Alipore Meteorological Department, light to moderate rains will begin in the state’s coastal areas from May 25. There may be heavy rain somewhere, and the amount of rain will increase next time. The rest of the districts will also receive rain.

From May 23, strong winds of 45-65 km per hour can blow in the East Central Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. The maximum wind speed can be 75 km per hour. The wind speed will continue to increase from May 23 and May 24. Therefore, on May 25, the Cyclone Yash speed in Kolkata may reach above 100 km per hour. It may increase further, just like the cyclone Amphan speed was in Kolkata. The sea will become rough due to the effects of the Yaas cyclone.

Cyclone Yaas will probably make landfall amid Paradip and Sagar islands on May 26, Wednesday evening. As a very severe cyclonic storm, it may cause heavy rainfall in coastal districts of West Bengal and north Odisha.

Cyclone Yaas speed in Kolkata may be similar to the speed of Amphan cyclone. The wind speed may reach 155- 165 kmph to 185 kmph.

On May 18, 2020, Amphan cyclone speed in Kolkata peaked, with 3-minute sustained wind speeds of 240 kilometers per hour. 1-minute sustained wind speeds of 260 kilometers per hour. Coastal areas in West Bengal, including East Midnapore. North 24 Parganas. South 24 Parganas. Kolkata. Hooghly. Howrah. and Orissa were affected. It also caused significant destruction in Bangladesh.

Experts say Yaas cyclone speed may be almost same as the speed of Amphan cyclone last year.

Amphan made landfall near Bakkhali in West Bengal at 2:30 PM on May 20. It was hitting the region with strong winds and heavy rains. The cyclone produced sustained winds of 112 kilometers per hour to 190 kilometers per hour.

Around 5:30 PM, Amphan made landfall as a mighty Cyclone near Bakkhali. The Amphan Cyclone speed in Kolkata was 155 kilometers per hour. As long as it moved further land area, Amphan rapidly weakened.
