Consuming a sour liquor in UP

Three persons have been killed, and 44 people have been hospitalized after drinking a fake drink purchased from a shop located in Mahul Nagar panchayat under the Ahraula police station within Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh.

The incident was reported by Amrit Tripathi, Azamgarh District Magistrate, on Monday.

“The incident occurred on the evening of Sunday. Three people were killed after drinking fake liquor. The 44 in hospital, of whom six-seven are currently on dialysis, while the remaining are in good health,” the doctor said.

“The police have detained two salesmen from the shop. The owner is expected to be detained shortly, and they are preparing to take action against them under the National Security Act,” Mr. Tripathi said.

The investigation continues.
