Apple Maps Starts Displaying COVID-19 Airport Travel Guidance

Apple Maps has begun showing the COVID-19 airport travel guide to iPhone, iPad, and Mac users to allow them easy access to local airport health requirements, including face coverings, health tests or exams, and quarantine guidelines. . Data comes from Airports Council International (ACI) for major airports around the world, including key ones in India. Users simply need to search for an airport on Apple Maps to see their COVID-19 travel guide and local health requirements.

Using ACI data, Apple Maps displays the COVID-19 travel guide for more than 300 airports around the world. These include Kempegowda International Airport (Bengaluru), Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (Mumbai), Indira Gandhi International Airport (New Delhi), Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (Hyderabad), and Chandigarh International Airport (Chandigarh).

Apple Maps shows if the airports listed have certain travel guidelines regarding COVID-19, such as mask requirements, health screenings, and quarantine guidelines. You can refer to this guide on the airport location card by searching for a particular airport in the Apple Maps app.

The ACI has also made airport orientation data available through an API that developers can integrate into their applications. The list of all participating airports is available through ACI’s Check & Fly tool.
