Athletic Hima Das Appeared as DSP in Assam Police

Hima Das’s childhood dream came true. Athletic Hima Das has got a new identity as the DSP of Assam Police. Hima also said that she wants to pursue her athletics career equally along with her police job.

Star sprinter Hima Das was given the charge on Friday at a function of the police department comprising former Union Sports Minister Sonowal and top officials of the state government and a police officer. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal was present on the occasion. Hima Das, 21, was handed over the DSP post on the occasion.

After receiving this special honor, Hima said, ‘I got this job today because of my sport. We want to establish Assam as one of the best performing states in the country by improving sports. From school life, I wanted to be a police officer. Mao was next to my dream. My mother also used to say that she used to serve the people by buying toy guns during Pujo.
