Auto Driver Arrested for Beating Dog to Death

Vadodara police hired a 60-year-old man for allegedly beating a stray dog ​​to death in a fit of rage after the dog opened the back seat of his rickshaw car. The Navapura Police Station has yet to arrest the accused.

The incident occurred on July 4 in the Shiyapura area of ​​the city where the accused resides. Police said the defendant, who drives a rickshaw for a living, had parked his vehicle near his residence. Later, he saw two stray dogs inside his car, ripping the rexina cover off the back seat. Angered, the defendant grabbed a stick and beat both dogs mercilessly while they were still in their car. Even when the locals intervened, the man continued to beat the two dogs, police said.

Locals managed to rescue the dogs and call the police. They also called an animal foundation to seek help treating the dogs. One of the two dogs died during treatment on Sunday.
