Barcelona player Ousmane Dembele has signed a contract with Paris St-Germain and could
move the day before the deadline for transfers on Monday.
If the two clubs can agree on a cost, says Guillem Balague.
The Spanish club is seeking 20 million euros in exchange for the player who is 24 years old
and was released from the contract at the end of summer.
Barca offered an offer of PS96.8m for Dembele back in 2017, but they’re now requesting
that he accept a pay cut or even quit.
Manchester United and Chelsea have also expressed interest in a possible deal.
However, the Premier League clubs are not expected to contest PSG to get France the
winger’s signature due to the restrictions on fair play in financial terms, which could leave
them with the requirement of shedding players before adding the wages Dembele to their
accounts.
If Dembele can relocate to Paris before Monday’s 23.00 GMT deadline, he’ll be joining
former Barca teammate Lionel Messi in the French capital.
He will also participate with international teammate Kylian Mbappe and Brazil star Neymar.
Barcelona wants to let Dembele make a move for either Spain or Atletico Madrid
striker Alvaro Morata.
They have signed a contract or the Arsenal’s Gabon player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
There is also the possibility that Dembele is set to join PSG in an exchange agreement in a
swap deal with Argentina forward Mauro Icardi.
