Covid's preparedness in Parliament

Just days before the beginning of the 2022 Budget Session, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla
on Friday (January 28) personally inspected and reviewed the Parliament’s premises to
ensure the smooth running of the session using proper procedures for Covid-19.

Pictures released by the news agency ANI illustrate the Lok Sabha speaker inspecting the
Covid security measures on the premises of the Parliament.

This is a day ahead of an all-party gathering scheduled by Birla to get the cooperation of all
parties in the Budget session and ensure an easy season.

According to the IANS report, Birla inspected the Lok Sabha Chamber, Central Hall, and
other areas of the Parliament House Complex and has issued directives to ensure the
security of officials, members, and media personnel during the Budget session about the
Covid-19 guidelines.

The Speaker was briefed on applying the Covid protocol norms within the Parliament House. Complex by senior officials.

The Speaker also inquired about the building materials and the architectural features of the
structure.

The session for the budget of Parliament Part 1 will start on January 31 and will last until
February 11.

The Budget will be announced on the 1st of February during Lok Sabha. The budget session
for Part 2 will start on the 14th of March and continue until April 8.

The Parliament’s budget session will be conducted with two different shifts this year. Rajya
Sabha will function from 10 am until 3 pm for the initial shift.

Lok Sabha will operate from 4 pm until 9 pm, except February 1. On the day of Budget, Lok
Sabha will function from 11 am.
