Bengal Minister Jakir Hossain was injured in a bomb attack, police say.
West Bengal Minister Jakir Hossain was seriously injured on Wednesday after unidentified criminals threw bombs on him, police said. The attack took place at the Nimtita train station in the Murshidabad district. The minister was rushed to a nearby hospital.
At least two other people who were with him were also injured in the incident.
Hossain, the Minister of State for Labor, was waiting on platform 2 of the station to catch a train to Kolkata around 10 pm when he was attacked, a senior West Bengal Police officer told PTI.
The Jangipur MLA in Murshidabad district and the other two injured people were taken to Jangipur Subdivisional Hospital, he said.
