In Uttarakhand, the party is likely to name a new Chief Minister for the state. At 11 a.m., the MLAs will be sworn in. Hill state party leaders Union Minister Rajnath Singh and Meenakshi Lekhi will pick a new Chief Minister.
In Delhi last week, Home Minister Amit Shah met with the acting chief minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, and other senior BJP leaders to talk about forming a new government in the state.

With 47 seats in the 70-member Uttarakhand Assembly, the BJP won its second term in the state. In the end, Mr. Dhami lost the election from the Khatima constituency, though.
Suresh Bhatt, Dhan Singh Rawat, Satpal Maharaj, and Ritu Khanduri are all running for the top post in Uttarakhand. Party MP Anil Baluni; MLAs Dhan Singh Rawat, Satpal Maharaj, Ritu Khanduri; and party MP Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
There is also a lot of tension in Goa over the top post. Pramod Sawant and Vishwajit Rane competed. In the past few days, sources said that Mr. Sawant was likely to get a second term at the top.
The decision is likely to be made today when the BJP meets with the Governor to say they want to run the country.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will take office for his second term on Friday, the BJP said last week. So far, there hasn’t been any word on how big his cabinet will be or who will be in charge of different jobs.
