In connection with her inflammatory comments against a community, the national secretary of the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM) has been charged.
Sadhvi Annapoorna, alias Pooja Shakun Pandey has been charged with inciting hatred amongst various communities by the Aligarh Police.
“In conjunction with her divisive comments, Pooja Shakun Pandey has been served with a First Information Report. In Gandhipark, a case was filed against her under sections 153A/153B/295A/298/505 of the Indian Penal Code, “Superintendent of Police, Aligarh, Kalanidhi Naithani said.

Last year, the Uttarakhand Police charged Ms Pandey and other Hindu religious leaders with hate speech during the Haridwar “Dharam Sansad” (religious assembly).
Earlier this year, the Delhi Police filed a hate speech complaint with a “Dharam Sansad” in the national capital.
Between December 17 and 19, hate speeches, including blatant demands for violence against Muslims, were delivered at two rallies in Delhi (by the Hindu Yuva Vahini) and Haridwar (by Yati Narsinghanand).
Pooja Shakun made news in 2019 for firing a shot at a Mahatma Gandhi effigy, chanting chants in support of Nathuram Godse, and setting fire to the effigy.
