Delhi Capitals' "behavior" over the no-ball controversy is "unacceptable," says Kevin Pietersen.

Chaos broke out on Friday when the on-field umpire didn’t give no-ball for a waist-high full toss. The Delhi Capitals were playing the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 game. The Delhi Capitals’ players and support staff were sure that it was a no-ball, but the umpires didn’t change their minds.

It led to chaotic scenes with tensions on the verge of boiling over. Assistant coach Pravin Amre entered the field of play to talk to the umpires. DC captain Rishabh Pant was gesturing at his two batters to leave the field.

In the last over of the match, there were many controversies. During the last six balls, Delhi needed 36 runs to win. Rovman Powell hit three sixes in a row to keep his team in the game.

That didn’t stop Powell from hitting a six on the third ball. However, the DC players and support staff were angry that the ball wasn’t given a no-ball because it was over their heads. It came to a halt when DC players, led by Pant, took to the streets to protest.

Powell couldn’t do what he did on the first three balls with Obed McCoy keeping his cool. After the match was restarted, Powell couldn’t do what he did with McCoy keeping his cool.

Kevin Pietersen, a former England cricketer, was unhappy with the Delhi Capitals’ behavior. People from South Africa said they thought DC might have been better off if they had stopped playing.

“It may have made Rovman Powell lose focus, and it may have also made Rishabh Pant think about the game differently. This may have happened during the game. I think that’s more important to me than the umpire’s call, though. When Delhi did what they did, I don’t think Ricky Ponting, who was here, would have done that. I don’t think that would have happened, and I don’t know why. Jos Buttler had the right to walk over to Rishabh Pant and say, “What are you doing? What are you doing?” They sent one of their coaches out there and thought that was the correct thing to do. “Star Sports heard this after the game was over. Pietersen told them this after the game was over,

“We play the gentleman’s game, and people make mistakes when they do it. How often have we nicked off or not nicked off but given something away? Give LBW out when we are not LBW. Swanny (Graeme Swann) and I have had long careers. We have played the game for about 20 years now, which is a lot of time. You don’t want to see things like what we saw in the last half an hour. It’s terrible for cricket. I don’t know who they think they are, which was a big mistake, “He added.

Also, Pietersen didn’t like that DC assistant coach Pravin Amre went into the field of play to talk to the umpires. Pietersen thought that was not nice.

“There is a big mistake when the coach runs on the field and talks to the umpire. So, I don’t get the coach. People in that room don’t like him very much. Rishabh Pant told them to stop, and the man wanted to leave. Cricket is a game I hope never to see anything like that happen again. That’s not why we play cricket, and that’s not how you should play cricket, either, “Pietersen said.
