Delhi Govt to provide scrapping incentives under Delhi EV Policy

The Delhi government notified the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2020 on August 7, 2020, with the intention of promoting the adoption of a clean mobility solution.
The policy aims to establish the feasibility for large-scale adoption of electric four-wheelers for passengers, by transitioning its entire government fleet to electric.

According to the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy, 2020, an incentive is provided to scrap the vehicles instead of scrapping a more polluting conventional vehicle. However, the scrapping incentive for the vehicle is applicable on the evidence of equivalent contribution from the dealer or OEM, so the NCT Government of Delhi will provide an incentive that matches the contribution made by the OEM or dealer on the scrapped value. of the vehicle, not to exceed Rs 5,000 per vehicle for two-wheelers and Rs 7,500 per vehicle for automobiles and light commercial vehicles, ”said the minister.
